Arrivederci, PayPerPost PLUS! Adobo Chicken Salad

Well, I made my decision regarding PayPerPost.

I'm quitting.

I just got paid out for the last sponsored post I did a month ago and have removed all paid PayPerPost posts from my blog. I've also removed all the PPP coding. I submitted my blog to Google for reconsideration regarding my Page Rank - unfortunately, their response can take a few weeks. I'll keep you posted.

So why am I quitting?

Simple, really. I work hard at increasing my blog's exposure and traffic levels. In a little over 4 months I've developed a regular following of at least 100 visitors (who I so appreciate and love) per day (regular and unique visitors combined). On days that Tastespotting or Food Gawker accept my photos, I'll see traffic nearing the thousand mark.

PPP rates a blog on traffic; it's their version of Page Rank only they call it Real Rank because they claim it to be more accurate. The lower the Real Rank, the better - they proclaim. I at one point had my Real Rank down to a fantastic 497 - but did not see PPP holding up their end of the bargain which is by giving me more Opps. I was still trundling along getting an Opp once every day or two.

Google Page Rank
is and always will be the trump card because advertisers know that a high Google Page Rank will get them more exposure. The thing is, is Google won't rate a site if they are doing paid posts - and I was not aware of this when I signed up with PayPerPost.

So - I've decided to quit PPP and work even harder on my blog, trying my hardest to get a good Google Page Rank.

To those considering joining PPP - I do recommend it if you are looking to make some extra money on the side. It's really quite easy, and they pay you when they say they will - it was always nice opening my email finding out that they had paid me out for a few posts and I suddenly had an extra $55 or what have you.

I am still able to refer, and make money from referrals - so if you want to sign up, please use the link below - we'll both make some money, as I'll get $15 and you will instantly get an Opp for $20!

We had Jenny of Picky Palate's Adobo Chicken Salad on spinach lined cheddar buns for dinner last night. It was a pretty easy meal to put together considering it calls for 2 cups of shredded rotisserie chicken. To channel Ina, how easy is that?

Adobo Chicken Salad

2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken

1 1/2 cups mayo

1/2 cup corn (
Sweet Sauteed if you feel like making it, or just use canned - don't hate me!)
3 tbsp chopped cilantro

1 tbsp adobo sauce

1 tbsp lime juice

pinch of salt

pinch of pepper

cheddar buns

spinach leaves

Combine first 8 ingredients in a large bowl until well combined. Spread onto the cheddar buns that you've lined with spinach leaves. Enjoy!

How did we like the sandwiches? They were alright. As a rule, I like to follow new recipes to the letter, and then alter them in the future. We loved the flavor of the chicken salad however found it to be too thick with mayo, and the sauteed sweet corn really didn't need that extra knob of butter at the end - the olive oil in the beginning was plenty. Other than that, we'll definitely be making again - the adobo flavor was so smoky and fit perfectly with the salad.

Baby Bear and I are having an at home day today - I am thinking about cleaning the house today but otherwise we're just going to relax, read some books, and play together.

Here's what Mr Baby Bear was doing when I went into his room this morning:

I didn't know that!

Oh well :) I've made more than I thought I would through PPP... even though the opps are hard to get

Maybe if I get more serious about a high Google Rank I'll do the same

Have you checked out Social Spark? Opps are based on your Real Rank and it does not hurt your Page Rank b/c the links use no follow tags. The payouts aren't as high and sometimes there aren't many available, but it is another option. Interesting food photo sites. I'm checking them out! ;)

Fabulous - I was glad to be making the money I was, with PPP. But I want to work on my Page Rank so I had to stop. I'll miss the money though!

Stephanie - I have, yes...I had signed up but when I found out all the problems with it I decided not to continue. Maybe I'll check it out again soon, they must have worked out all their bugs by now!
